Description
This Ireland 1 Pound banknote that was issued in 1982 is part of the family of notes that has its theme Irish history. It was designed by Servicon with a pre-Christian geometric design found on bone slips and a portrait of Medb, a legendary Queen of Connaught, on the front design along with an Irish text excerpt from the book of Tain. The reverse side features Irish words extracted from the 12th century Book of the Dun Cow. The note measures 148 x 78 mm and contains a solid security thread and a Lady Lavery watermark to enhance its security features.
